The number refers to which spell is automatically cast from the Lore of Heavens as a Bound Spell (at the Power Level equal to the minimum casting value for the spell. This requires no power dice and cannot be increased in any way). However, if a 6 is rolled, the Chalice runs out of power after the spell is cast and cannot be used for the remainder of the battle.
